Royal treatment with a playful twist will take center stage Friday, September 18, when the Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center gathers at Artifact Events for their annual Fall Benefit: “The Queen’s Table”, an evening celebrating modern royalty, feminine flair and the belief that everyone deserves a seat at the table of health and healing.
Event Chair Christina Kline and the Woman’s Board have created an evening that blends the sophistication of an old-world British club with a decidedly modern, cheeky pop sensibility. Guests will be invited to settle in for exceptional bites, lively music and classic table games, all designed to encourage celebration, connection and plenty of fun.
“We wanted to create a world that feels a little unexpected — a place where the elegance of an old British club meets something much more playful and feminine,” says Kline. “The Queen’s Table is meant to feel sophisticated but never too serious, glamorous but welcoming, and above all, like a place where people want to laugh and connect. It’s a celebration, and we want our guests to feel like they’ve stepped into something truly special.”
Décor by 440 Event Design will help transform Artifact Events into an atmosphere where traditional elegance meets playful indulgence. Food for Thought will provide the evening’s culinary offerings, while Mystique Productions and Innocenti Strings will provide live entertainment throughout the night.
Adding a personal touch to the evening, Woman’s Board member Paige Spearin – who has designed for Lilly Pulitzer among many others – created custom illustrations for the invitation and event graphics, bringing the spirit of The Queen’s Table to life even before guests arrive.
No royal celebration would be complete without a few treasures fit for a queen. The evening’s auction will feature an array of highly coveted experiences and one-of-a-kind opportunities, including a triptych of incredibly rare classic signed Chicago Bulls jerseys, a VIP experience at the 2027 Air and Water Show at Theater on the Lake, and a private chef experience for eight. Guests will also have the chance to enter a $10,000 cash raffle.
But beneath the crowns, cocktails and table games is a message that goes to the heart of Rush’s mission: there should always be room for everyone at the table.
“The idea of bringing everyone to the table is really at the heart of what Rush does every day,” says Kline. “When you come to Rush as a patient, you are not defined by where you come from, what you have, or what your circumstances are. You are welcomed, cared for and treated with the same commitment to exceptional health care. We wanted The Queen’s Table to celebrate that idea—that everyone deserves a seat, everyone deserves to be heard, and everyone deserves access to the care they need.”
The theme reflects the Woman’s Board’s longstanding partnership with Rush, whose mission is to provide the best health care for the individuals and diverse communities it serves. The Fall Benefit is one of the Woman’s Board’s two annual fundraising events, with proceeds supporting its work on behalf of Rush.
“The Queen’s Table promises to be an evening where tradition gets a playful makeover, where old-world elegance meets modern fun, and where every guest is invited to pull up a chair. Because at Rush, the most important table is the one with room for everyone,” Kline said.
